## About Warm Springs

OpenStreetMap calls this Devil's Faucet Hot Spring, which is a livelier name than the Warm Springs the federal survey gives it. Either way it is hot, measured at 112 degrees, on Bureau of Land Management ground in Humboldt County, close to eighty miles from Winnemucca. The Humboldt River Field Office administers the land and the record lists it as open.

Knott Creek Road passes within about seventy five yards. This is BLM land at around four and a half thousand feet, low for the region. Winter snow comes to a bit over two feet and the annual moisture is scant, so the road should be passable outside the worst of the cold months. No campground turns up within the record's search.

Two names attach to this spring. The USGS and the state record carry it as Warm Springs, one of many with that label in Nevada, while OpenStreetMap contributors have tagged it Devil's Faucet Hot Spring. The record does not say where the second name came from.

December through February rank highest for a visit. The water is hot enough to hurt. Test it before you get in and expect to wait for a cooler spot. Open access, no fee listed. Remember the long drive out from Winnemucca and the lack of any listed camping.
