The nearest road is more than forty-five miles away and the nearest community in the record, Nuiqsut, lies over two hundred. The record says warm and gives no number.
Park backcountry, a little over fifteen hundred feet up, with the yearly average temperature well below freezing. Little precipitation falls, and a fair share of it is snow.
